We enjoyed picking up trash on the road with 12 members this morning.
It's not the heat, it's the humidity especially in the very hot and humid morning.
Two plastic bags for empty bottles and cans got full.

It's summer, and it's twice as much volume as usual.
I did not think we had rain.  As soon as the wrap up meeting was over,
it's starting to sprinkle.  When we reached to the cafe, it's starting to
pour that we need umbrella. It was grateful that there was no rain during our
activity.
So far, so many times heaven helped us that we did not have to use
umbrella during our activity.
At the breakfast, we talked a lot as usual.
For the first time, I noticed Mr.S came with his wife could sense "spirit".
There are two places as “power spots,” source of mystical energy,
in Atsuta shrine where he feels shock like a current when he came near.
One is Okusu, a big cedar tree that is said to have been more than
1,000 years old.
You could see offering eggs to snake which dwells inside the tree.
The other is "Aramitamasama" locates  at "Kokoro no Komichi" behind
the main hall.
He also feels the same shock when he passes through the wooden
UJI bridge at Ise Jingu.  He said it is good to walk to listen carefully
the sound of stones which makes noise "Gishi Gishi" because kami (deity)
dwelling there as well in each one of the stones.
When you visit to a popular shrine for tourists, it must be in the early
in the morning. In the day time, the atmosphere is full of vicious mind of
war-shippers and becomes worse in the evening.  This is quite new to me.
I fully agree what Mr.S said and I was  moved so much.
We talked the two tress remained on the road. Both of them were in
Higashi award.  One is remained near the Japan Ki-in close to the intersection
of Higashi Kataha, where cars passed by right and left side.
The other is near the KinjoGakuen in Shirakabe town.
People said there must be a curse when cut off the tree so that those tree
were left on the road without cutting off.  Are there any case in foreign
country? Is this only in Japan?  I want to ask Mr.E from Holland if
there is a case to remain the tree because of curse.
I fully enjoyed talk at this time.  To look into Japanese Kami (deity),
may I see the bottom of our heart?
Why do Japanese people visit to shrine in the new year season as
a movement of persons from one country or locality to another ?

The sky looked threatening, and it had a little rain in the end, but I felt very good
to pick up trash on the road.
We had 9 members today. Nagame-san went to attend Kyoto Shinsengumi 20 th
anniversary.
M-chan from Kyoto joined  after a long silence realized a lot of trash on the road
while she looked down the road.
She made a positive feedback that she started to want to join her school town
activity. Ymd-san for the second time to join was surprised to be asked by a police
officer  what she picked up.
Yes, there were variety of things left on the road, for sure.
At the breakfast, K-kun, the first year of university  and M-chan, the third grade of
high school talked their experience living  abroad.
K-kun spent his three years to study at high school in Fiji and experienced many
different perceptions.
He tackled the problem of different culture squarely and sometimes he passed it
and received everything.  He seems very reliable that he understood and
organized it well.  (Mr. Y mentioned, "You look more matured!")
M-chan has a bit difficulty in Japanese because she grew up from the third grade
of elementary school to junior-high school in USA.
(However, she is good at classical Japanese. Why not?)
The other topics were "Secret of success in sales" by Mr. Y and "Your dream
will come true" by Ymd-san etc. We enjoyed a lot of talk!

Thank you again, see you again!!

そりゃ暑いはずだ^^;

Hello!
Thank you for reading this blog and people joined the clean-up activity.
We had 9 members today.

Y-san joined for the first time is a friend of H-san working for a travel agent.
Nagame met Y-san at a morning book reading club last week, then three days later,
she came up to join us. I should learn from her flexibility.

Anyway, it was very, very hot. Today' high was 36℃ that I checked.
That's why so hot. During the activity, I bought a bottle of water and picked up trash
while drinking. My clothes are dripping wet.
It was right to wear half sleeve jersey and a pair of breeches. It is very good for this
activity that you can feel the seaon.
It seems much plastic bottles and cans rather than usual.
I think it was very hot so many people drunk a lot.
And today's mystery,,,

Why were there so many mouthwash left???
It is very fun to image "why" the trash was left here etc.
At the breakfast, we talked a lot especially self-introduction etc.

See you next week!

10 members enjoyed picking up trash on the road.
There were a lot of plastic bottles and empty cans.
It was such a hot and humid yesterday.
Nagame-san said the heat made him dizzy. Staying hydrated saved
him from serious illness. It is necessary to take care for
the heat stroke  even at young age, such as Nagame-san.
At the breakfast, we talked  many topics and enjoyed them.
The very best topic is  "Nagame-san's  speech in Asakatsu
(Morning Meeting) again." The theme is about "mathematics."
Some of the student asked him "even though we study math at school,
I heard there is no use of it after graduation." He wanted to tell them
"how the math is useful in the daily life" in Asakatsu, not provide
ordinary math class. Listening his statement, two members decided to join
Asakatsu to listen to his speech.  We talked more about the reason of why
we study math which is not usually used in the daily life etc.

Another topic is "language."
What do you think the difference between "Japanese" and "Kokugo;
National language"?
-Soda Kyoto e Ikou("Oh, yes! Let's go to Kyoto.")=> Japanese
-Iza Kamakura ("To Kamakura with haste.")=> Kokugo; National language
"Iza Kamakura" means "in case of contingency", not going sightseeing
to Kamakura.
The original meaning comes from historical story.
In wartime, the shogun ordered the samurai to rush to Kamakura to
fight when enemy attacked.
If you know the historical background, it is easy to understand
the actual meaning. This is Kokugo; National Language.
Perhaps this is a hard part for E-san from Holland to understand
literally hidden meaning.

S-san who runs construction company measures land area using
mathematical formula. He used to calculate by hand, but recently
measurement machine's computer gives an answer at right moment
as soon as measuring starts.
Is learning math no use because the computer calculates instead?
No,no. If one experienced hand calculation, the instinct worked
when there existed mistakes and called attention such as "something is wrong."
As a skillful "soloban,  a Japanese abacus" user is tend to find the mistakes
easily, if the person learned principles, those who can find input mistakes
or disguised building.
People's ability is piled up from various learnings. I think if some part
of base lost, the ability went weak. Don't you think so?
That would be a loss for the one who does not learn things because not
direct use it after school.
I wonder what kind of lecture Nagame will give.  Will he talk to the audience
the "secret of math" secretly?
I am looking forward to the report what he made.

(Please see the English translation below the Japanese.)
Nagoya Shinsengumi was covered by Junior Chamber International Nagoya!

Vol.2
